The Nevada IT Club exists to educate its members, the community, and the school in matters related to computers, networks, and information technology in general. Our primary focus is in learning to set up and maintain secure networks, servers, and programs following the best cyber-defense recommendations available from the IT industry.

CyberDefense Job Market to Grow

When businesses get a tax break for securing their networks, you can bet that the demand for cybersecurity experts will grow!

Summer Independent Study Projects

It's time to think of what you might want to do this summer. I encourage you all to get out, enjoy the summer, find work/earn money, and do your best to avoid spending too much time staring at a computer screen...time enough for that when you're older and are being paid to do it. But if you want to continue learning IT during the summer months, you can pick out one (or several) self-study projects that you'd like to focus on.

US Cyber Challenge

The US Cyber Challenge is looking for 10,000 young Americans with the skills to fill the ranks of cyber security practitioners, researchers, and warriors. Some will become the top guns in cyber security. The program will nurture and develop their skills, give them access to advanced education and exercises, and where appropriate, enable them to be recognized by colleges and employers where their skills can be of the greatest value to the nation.
